first next best thing
I feel like a plant who has grown too big for her pot. My hungry roots are searching for some fertile nutritious soil to dig into to feed my cells and soul.
Luckily, I know just the thing that will do the trick. The next best thing.
I’ve been playing around with the idea of live-streaming musical performances from my studio, The Nest. Again. I did one stream once before and then I stopped.
Life took over and I just never got back to it. I’m ready to begin again- NEED to- but there’s a bit of a re-learning curve in my way. My aversion to all things tech and software coupled with unanswered questions, like “Which platform should I use?”, “How do I get the best sound and video set-up?”, etc. are acting like roadblocks.
Stewing around inside the plan to begin ‘eventually’ has now run its course and officially become unbearable.
Today, I am pinning myself to an end-date by involving all of YOU.
Once I push POST on this post, I have set things in motion….and there will be no going back. No staying crammed into the too-small pot. This girl’s got to grow.
I don’t know for sure what’s going to happen but I do know I don’t wanna die with my songs still in me. And I do want to die knowing I didn’t hold back one little bit from singing my heart out.
And so here it is:
I, the woman known as Jacqueline, will begin live-streaming on Fridays at 7 pm EST.
As for how long…let’s just see how it goes.
I invite you to join me for enjoyment purposes only.
I will happily play requests if they pass my sniff-test. Plus I can guarantee a cover set list of only the world’s best songs. And maybe a few originals, should it be called for.
Some piano, a little guitar. Hopefully, a lot of fun.
When I choose a platform for streaming, I’ll be sure to post and share a link.
Below is a taste of what to expect if you choose to join me.

second next best thing
We are becoming a community, connecting and entwining on platforms and inside apps, but not in real life. I celebrate the web and it’s far reach of networks, growing by the day. And yet the fact remains that we will most likely never share physical space.
We will never hold a lighter up at a concert together or go for pizza and beer after a show, but we can hang at my nest together for a night of live music.
I know it’s not the same thing, but it’s the next best thing.
Thank you so much for popping by!
I appreciate you.
Right on! Good on you for taking this leap. Love that you'll have a set list and take requests. Fantastic voice as well, btw.
Seems like you've got a lot of the tech down just fine. The vocals are present. The keys sound sweet. Nice reverb. Very pretty!
