I loved the car story, your last minute homework assignment. That just says it all, doesn't it?
What do you mean you wrote your history ahead? I must read that. You mentioned that the winners write history, so you wrote your history ahead, what did I miss? Is that part of one of your books?
Painting and drawing form a five minute pose is so hard! I was invited to draw a model once. She was in a bikini and on a motorcycle. She would turn every couple of minutes. I was so daunted by the task, that I wound up drawing the artists (whose gallery we were in) agent. She noticed me looking at her a lot and she asked me at the end what I had been up to. I was so embarrassed to show her my final product! It wasn't terrible, but I wasn't dying to show it to her. She was flattered that I had landed on her of all people. Hahaha.
It is clear that you have many years of practice. It shines and shines through.
Stay tethered to reality;
Good advice.
I love your use of light.
"Thatβs it, Iβve got this in the bag", you are so cute π
I would love to watch you laugh at bad art in real time.
It just lights up your whole face. Hahaha.
I love your story about the magazine and your grandma π
I see the 11 year old kid π
I can see that love of Rembrandt in your painting in your use of light.
I love your many voices coming into agreement with each other.
I embrace my many voices. Although today I said βhey, no.β to them. The complainer was on a rampage. Then after I asked that voice to simmer down, I had compassion for it. I walked it back.
I enjoyed the part when you were talking about the integrity of your work giving you the credibility to have more of an effect on people, that is true.
You are right, we are not used to authenticity. I enjoy yours very much. I have enjoyed getting to know you thus far.
May we be entering an age of independents! Yes!
Also, I love classical and opera π
It was so nice seeing your face! Hello there! I love that you have what you need to paint freely and to explore your magic. I really enjoyed this podcast!
Thanks Jacqueline! I am so glad you are doing these.
I was already kind of thinking along those terms with regard to his glowing, inhabited, living, ethereal bodies. They are clearly alive. And I know what he means about taking weeks to make a change. I thought maybe that was just me because I was learning. I needed time to stop looking at it. I got to the point where I would turn it around completely until working on it again, so I couldn't keep looking at it everyday. You lose objectivity. It was good to hear this happens to artists such as he, as well. (Not just the noobs!) Also, sorry for that, Michael. It really is more like work when you have to "redo" something. I am glad all your voices are present to help you though. They are doing an excellent job.
That is funny that you said it, too. Although not surprising. I found a link to that book that he mentioned but I didn't post it here. I didn't know if you would want it linked here .Also, I didn't want to share that book without sharing his and I haven't looked at those yet. He seems to have many. One of these days I want a copy of both of these mentioned. (as well as a few others that some substakians have mentioned that they wrote themselves.) It's funny to remember a time in my life 2017-2019 when I was running out of books I wanted to read. Now I have a list of books I "need" to read that are written by people I have met here. I will never run out again.
I love that you're finding new books to read that you know will nourish you where you're at NOW...after so much growth and evolution.
I've had to get rid of so many old books after un/learning so much more. For example, Sapiens by Hurari. I remember enjoying it when it first came out, but I took it off my bookshelf and out to the garbage when, a few years ago, he peeled back a layer and revealed more of who he is.
Use your own eyes with reality... That is KEY, very interesting, because I think we generally have a conditioned view of reality. It is consciousness programming, rather than our true nature seeing the world. I like to blur the image if I can, break it down into shadow. Even when I am looking directly at an object (rather than a photo) and suddenly I see all these shapes that make a WHOLE, picture, but each part is not particularly defined, I take those shadows and put them together in my painting, and then later the detail comes into view.
Thank you, Iβve gotten behind but Iβm working on catching up to all of these interesting interviews. I missed your concert Friday but Iβm hoping to tune in again this week! β€οΈ
Looking very forward to listening to this episode on the weekend ππΎπ«π«π«
Yay...that's wonderful. :) Thank you Solarah!! Sending you love, sister. xox

Those glowing ethereal body paintings are so beautiful.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I am planning on traveling light years in my reading moving forward. I tossed a few myself.

Absolutely!!
"I take those shadows and put them together in my painting, and then later the detail comes into view."
Cooooool.....totally makes sense!
