"I still really miss you but something is perfect, too" That line....oh.
And right after that you harmonize with yourself there, I love that part. This is a beautiful song. I am so glad you captured it. Wow. I am so glad I can play music. I know exactly what you mean about being able to play and not being able to play, given what is going on in your life. Thank goodness for it though. It is a release. I never thought of that before, a musician's "release". This is a wonderful song. I love it.
You’re making everyone cry these days!! With the generosity of your kindness and attention, Amy. Thank you so much for that reflection. Hugging you across space. ❤️
Rich writing that brings together various pieces into one composition; inspiring message.
The truth is that most things will end. Some begin to end as soon as they start. We must learn to go "onwards and upwards." Life is motion, and living is in the frequency of experiences. We really have no choice but to soldier on, after all, one day this life will itself end.
Indeed, Patrick! I suppose the key is in "how" we soldier on...do we resist the change that inevitably finds us or do we turn to face it bravely and open our arms to whatever is coming?
Thank you so very much for reading and taking the time to comment. :)
Very much welcome. In my judgment and experience, we are just human. We thus resist change up to that point when we cannot deny reality anymore. However, at some point, we change, perhaps because we'd perish if we didn't (or because there's nothing to go back to).
Besides, all burdens become lighter with time, partly because clarity helps us understand things. So, it may not even be about being brave, it could just be about remaining sane enough so that time illuminates a path forward.
We'll change our minds, we'll get to accept the reality of endings that were perhaps inevitable, we just have to live long enough be guided to this clarity.
"We thus resist change up to that point when we cannot deny reality anymore."
I've written another song about this idea, too, when I was reflecting on just how many of our human stories for centuries- told in books, in art, in movies- are about the Hero's journey, that challenging path that asks us to change despite our resistance to doing so. It's called Tidal Wave, and the chorus suggests it's better to break than 'just bend', in order rebuild fully anew, stronger than before.
" it could just be about remaining sane enough so that time illuminates a path forward."
I sent you an email when I discovered the beautiful note you wrote me when you got yourself a paid subscription. It means so much to me that any of my words or work make a difference for you. So honoured and humbled and grateful. ❤️🙏✨
Wow...I couldn't ask for anything more....I'm so grateful you listened and HEARD me and that it all resonated within you, my sister. Thank YOU!! Have a beautiful day! xox

To be reminded of that candle in a whirlwind of her own creation is a compliment. When I was 16 I saw her as a guest performer on The Tom Jones Show one Saturday night. What a pair when they sang together! Unforgettable. Best wishes to you, and Thanks for the Memory.
Oh baby, I'm better than ever...warrior-mode is my default-setting! xo
Nanu, nanu.
'The dark night of the soul is the alchemy of our future selves and you captured that perfectly.'
Well said, Ratio!
And I don't believe I thanked you for the compliment, so thank you!
This is GORGEOUS! 🙏🏻💜💫
Thank you so much, my beautiful Angel...🙏🌟✨😇❤️

Awww thank you so much, my musical magical sister. ✨🙏 Where would we be without our connection to music?! Such a healthy way to express and release.❤️
It's incomparable.
Wow...tears...😭

I am laughing because you made my face leak. Haha. Who is doing what to whom? Pahaha. If I were closer we would totally jam together. For realz. :)

for rest.

I had no idea that your range went down that low. Nice!
It sure does....especially in the morning. ha!
Thank you for taking the time to read and take a listen, my friend. It means a lot to me. :)
I have not checked to be sure exactly, but yeah, I think I have an extra 4th in the morning. Not that I sing much anymore…
That's a shame! Not even in the shower?
Chronic LPR has wrecked my voice.
Oh wow. I had to look that up. Sounds painful. I'm sorry about the loss of your voice! :(
🤗
You have a great voice!
Hey! Thank you so much!! I really appreciate you listening.
I really enjoyed being able to read the lyrics to the song and then go back and listen. Beautiful vocals calming to the soul. Thanks for sharing
Awww that’s so lovely to hear...and I’m so glad it made you feel something, Michelle. Thank you for listening and leaving a comment. ❤️
Good story, good song. Hearing your voice brought memories of Janice Joplin to my mind.
